Wolves are an integral part of Alaska’s ecosystem, with an estimated population of 7,000 to 11,000 individuals. These majestic predators play an essential role in maintaining the balance of the state’s wildlife populations, preying on animals such as moose, caribou, and Dall sheep.
This is a fresh design of our wolf tracks medallion originally designed in the 1990’s. Our Wolf Tracks coin was one of the first medallions in our “Tracks” series which shows many of Alaska’s creatures and the tracks they leave. It features a wolf standing in the foreground with a howling wolf in the background. This medallion is available in golden bronze, pure copper, 1 oz .999 fine silver, 1 oz single gold relief (24k plating on part of the silver coin) and 1 oz double gold relief (24k gold plating on both sides). It is similar in size to a silver dollar and comes packaged in an airtight container and handsome gift box. The reverse features our popular “Land of the Midnight Sun” design.
