How about a silver heart for your special someone? This heart-shaped silver assay bar is surprisingly heavy, it is about 1.5 inches tall and weighs just about 2 troy ounces.
We design and cut these molds then have our jeweler pour them one-at-a-time outside of his workshop right here in Anchorage. Since these are poured outdoors, the texture and weight of the bars will vary due to the changing conditions of the weather. This makes every bar unique and no two bars will look exactly the same. We stamp our hallmark, and the weight and fineness of silver on each bar.
When we mint our medallions, if they have flaws that don’t pass our quality control standard, we melt them down and pour them into different shaped bars. This is our fun way of recycling, we get to turn something flawed into a piece of art.
