Celebrate The 91st Year Of Anchorage’s Famous Winter Carnival!
The 2026 design features a mother moose along with her twin calves and a beautiful Fireweed plant along the edge of the coin.
The new design is selected during a contest and tends to capture the spirit of Alaska. 2026 will be the 91st year anniversary of the festival.
Each year we mint the Official Fur Rondy Collector Button design into our medallions. Since 1986 we have minted the Official Anchorage Fur Rondy design in golden bronze, silver, and sometimes even pure gold medallions. The silver and gold relief medallions are limited to a maximum mintage of only 2500 combined. Only in Anchorage, Alaska can competitors square off in outhouse races, create massive and complex snow sculptures, and dash to keep clear of reindeer on 4th ave. These are just a few of the fun events to compete in during the Fur Rendezvous festival that has been going on during the month of February since 1935.
These medallions are available in golden bronze, 1 oz .999 fine silver, 1 oz single gold relief (24k plating on the front of the silver coin) and 1 oz double gold relief (24k gold plating on both sides). They are similar in size to a silver dollar and come packaged in an airtight container and handsome gift box. The reverse features our Land of the Midnight Sun design.
