This beautiful 6.8 gram natural gold & quartz specimen was found in Arizona by some friends of ours using their metal detectors. They search for gold in the southern part of the U.S. in the winter and Australia in the summer.
This natural gold & quartz specimen weighs 6.8 grams, It is just under 3/4″ wide and just over 3/4″ tall. Gold has a specific gravity of 19.32 and quartz is 2.65. This is why the quartz area looks much larger but the gold is very heavy by comparison.
