During the 1960s, Anchorage began calling itself the ‘air crossroads of the world’. Seven international carriers used ANC as a regular fuel stop on flights between Europe, Asia and North America. The name still holds true as it is a major refueling and crew change stopover for nearly all of the world’s international cargo airlines, Anchorage has the 4th busiest cargo airport in the world. This medallion features a Boing 747 taking off in front of the Chugach Mountain range that are the backdrop of our city.

It is available in golden bronze, 1 ounce .999 fine silver, 1 oz single gold relief (24k plating on front of the silver coin) and 1 oz double gold relief (24k gold plating on both sides). It is similar in size to a silver dollar and is packaged in an airtight container and handsome gift box. The reverse is our Land of the Midnight Sun design.
