The stainless steel blade on this ulu knife is about 5.5″ wide and is stamped with a damascus pattern, it comes with a matching base so you can proudly display this ancient style knife in your kitchen. The handle is made of mammoth bone, which are found by gold miners, this is a beautiful and very durable material that is found throught the state. It is designed and made here in Anchorage by Alaskan knife maker, Bob Merry.
Bob and his family have been carving and making knives in Alaska for over 30 years. Each year he spends a month or more in the Arctic wilderness collecting naturally shed antler for his knife handles and carvings. He gets mammoth bone from miners, and artifacts and other materials from hunters that find them while in the back country.
Because this knife is made of natural material, the grain and color will vary.
