Check out this unique mammoth ivory piece! The ivory is about 10″ long.
Prehistoric woolly mammoth ivory is found in Alaska, Canada, Russia, and Siberia. They range in age from 10,000 to 200,000 years. The “bark” or exterior of the fossil mammoth is naturally colorful due to the minerals surrounding the tusk. These minerals seep into the fossil over tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of years to create a permanent stain on the material.
