The 2022 Official State Medallion was designed by Alaskan artist Farrah Mathis.
Farrah Mathis, is a self taught, alaskan grow artist from Wasilla, who discovered her passion for painting at a very young age.
Farrah’s accomplishments have landed her artwork around the world. She focuses primarily on the wildlife and beauty that surrounds her. She enjoys experimenting with watercolor, which is known to be an uncontrollable medium. Farrah, prides herself on creating fine detail and realistic art while embracing its unpredictability.
Farrah’s life time of creativity and determination inspired her to apply for the Official State of Alaska Medallion design contest. Her design came from her love of Alaska’s wildlife, and the surrounding beauty Alaska has provided.
She is proud to call herself the Official 2022 Alaska State Medallion design winner.
